What exactly is a DVD Scrapbook?
We create a video of your lifetime memories – your photos (and video) are blended expertly with music of your choosing to make a movie of your special moments.

What does it include?
First, we scan your photos for you into a high resolution jpg format. We can also use your digital images, if you prefer, and offer this to you at a reduced price. After scanning the photos, we evaluate your photos for red eyes and color quality and make improvements as needed. We combine these finished photos into a seamless video that flows beautifully with music of your choosing. If you desire, you can add video or even your voice-over with your photos – imagine singing “Happy Birthday” yourself while photos play. We guarantee you an emotional experience.
Optionally, we can include all your photos in jpg format right along on your DVD. Insert your DVD into your own computer, and you’ll have your digitized photos at your fingertips! This adds to the archival nature of the video and allows you to use these photos in the future for your own wishes.  Each DVD is delivered to you with a customized label and customized DVD case.

Where do you get the background music?
All of our music is obtained and used legally. Picture Parade will be happy to purchase your music for you through a legitimate online provider, at a small charge to you or you can send us a CD containing the music you want on the slideshow. Once the music is in your slideshow we delete the files so that they cannot be used again. Please click here for more information.

What size photos do we scan? What resolution do we scan the photos?
We recommend photos not be smaller than a wallet size photo and not larger than 8 ½ by 11”. You can even include newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, greeting cards or other special memorabilia.

Depending upon the size and quality of your photo we will adjust the scanning to give the best possible image. Typically, photo prints are scanned at 300-600 dpi at a color depth of 24 bits.

Can scanning damage my photo?
No. The only thing that comes into contact with your photos is the glass flat bed of our scanners.

What type of improvements can you do to my photos?
We can brighten dark photos and reduce red eyes. In some cases, we can reduce the appearance of a date stamp in the corner of the photo. Unfortunately, nothing can bring an out-of-focus picture into focus. Also, we do not restore damaged photos. If that is needed, please see your local professional.

What type of DVD media do you use?
Picture Parade uses DVD-R media. The DVD is compatible with 90-95% of all DVD players. Newer DVD players support more formats. If you have any questions about your particular player or experience problems with the DVD, we can check compatibility lists and send you a DVD+R copy if necessary.

Will your DVD play on my DVD player?
If your DVD player was produced in the past 3 years, you have a 99% chance of it being compatible with DVD-R disks. If your disk doesn’t play, it is because of an incompatibility issue, not a problem with the disk. We urge you to test out the DVD in the player you are going to use BEFORE your special event to ensure you do not accidentally have an incompatibility issues. If the DVD does not play, we would suggest you try the disk in a different DVD player

What is your discount for me sending digital photos?
We give you a $.50 per photo discount for digital photos. Make sure it is in the jpg format. If you have scanned them yourself, please ensure you are happy with the resolution and that the scan is clean, no fingerprints or scratches. You can email your digital photos to us at dvd@picture-parade.com or mail us a CD of your images.
